5 Simple Ways to Get Ready for the Holiday Season
I can’t believe it is finally here! The time of year where we get that warm fuzzy feeling of joy and laughter and it’s everywhere! Whether it is a white or a rainy one, it will always be a day to remember. Even before the Big Day comes, we have to make sure that everything will fall into place, so we see love and happy faces and we have no complaints and regrets.
So, here are my top ways to get you ready for the Holidays!
ESTABLISH THE PLAN
Okay, let’s be real here. Behind the perfect picture scenes of Christmas is the shopping rush, chopping, washing, moving and then having to go out again for that last minute item you forgot to buy! Seriously, every home buddy can relate to this.
So the first thing you should do to get out of this situation, is to sit down and visualize all the things that you want to do this holiday. Start off with the theme, decorations, gifts, programs and food. If you are having a hard time visualizing it in your mind, you can go to different online platforms such as pinterest, tumblr, google and the like to get some inspiration.
LIST & ALARM
Now once you have your perfect idea the next thing you should do is to list & categorize it. Before heading to the grocery store, do not forget to count the number of guest that you plan to invite.
Prepare your shopping list based on the headcount and the food you are planning to serve. As you prepare your list, include the place where you will shop and also the date and time you’ll be doing it (or even try and do click and collect or home delivery to make it easier!) Do the same thing for gifts and other items. Get them scheduled in your calendar!
INSPECTION
Party place, venue whatever you want to call it can make or break your biggest holiday event. This is something we should take as a serious consideration in order to cater for every guest in the way you want them to be treated. As you organize the event you must consider all your facilities – the living room, its lights, chairs in the kitchen, bathroom and up to the extra room to accommodate any overnight guests.
DELEGATE
Alright nobody wants to be a “one man band” preparing and doing tons of chores at the same time right? Or maybe you’re somewhat of a perfectionist and think that the “kids cannot do it right”. Well, if you really want to have a “merry” holiday it is time for you to gather the whole family and distribute the tasks on your list. Allocate appropriately and get them involved. Encourage them in a way they will realize the essence of helping the family.

SELF-CARE
Schedule a day for reflections and pampering. This is to give your mind a rest and signal that all your efforts and preparations are totally awesome!
