Summer is coming, and how best to celebrate than having a refreshing cocktail in the garden??!!
Sometimes the simplest are the best. One of my all time favourites is the Caipirinha. I absolutely love limes and any opportunity I can get to use it in my food and drinks I will. Limes are great for all sorts of things such as skin care, improving digestion, and of course…. cocktails!
Why not zest up your dinnertime with this delicious recipe below:
The Classic Caipirinha
The caipirinha is one of Brazil's zestiest drinks! Like any good classic cocktail, it is simple and strong. While cachaca and rum are both derived from sugar cane, they are not to be confused.
Cachaca must always be made from fresh sugar cane juice and is only produced in Brazil (but they sell a great one on Amazon here). Don't even think about skipping it in a caipirinha!
- 50 ml cachaca
- 1 lime cut into wedges
- 2 tsp raw sugar
Add lime wedges and sugar into the base of your glass and muddle with the end of a spoon
Fill the glass with ice and top with the cachaca
Serve with a wedge of lime on the rim of the glass
Kick back and relax!
Now get those cocktail umbrellas out and get yourself ready for summer!
If you are not sure on the different types of raw sugar out there, I can highly recommend this product – so tasty and you can get in on Amazon Prime for those cocktail emergencies! Just click on the image to see the great reviews.
